About Us
The Magical Girl Market is made by Magical People for all Magical People! We strive to bring together the Ottawa community through celebrating Magical Girls and women of all shapes and sizes. We invite local artists, businesses, and talent of all kinds to join us in this feminist celebration of shameless self-love. We promote a fun, inclusive, positive space for everyone in our community and at our events. We support body positivity, cultural diversity, and LGBTQ rights within the community. We promote a safe space for everyone regardless of ethnicity, age, ability, skill, gender, or orientation- no if's, and's or but's!

Accessibility & Accountability

About Us
Communication Accessibility

Ottawa is a bilingual city, acknowledging both French and English as official languages. We commit to having at least one volunteer on-site who is fluent in both official languages. We also recognize ASL and LSQ as official languages. We commit to having at least one volunteer on-site who understands basic ASL and fingerspelling. At this time, we do not have a volunteer who signs LSQ. That being said, we also commit to providing communication tools, such as a pen and paper, to all vendors to assist in communication. We recognize linguistic diversity in the city and support language rights for all communities. Though we are volunteer based and cannot afford translators for every language, we welcome willing volunteers to message us!

Mobility Accessibility
We commit to holding our events in venues that are accessible to those utilizing mobility devices. If the route is not direct, we will do our best to highlight the route.
Gender Diversity
We recognize that gender is a spectrum and that not everyone fits according to the socially designated binary. We commit to having at least one gender-neutral/all-gender washroom at the venues we choose for our events.
Social Accountability
This event is happening on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe territory.
We operate under the umbrella of intersectional feminist discourse. We support body positivity, cultural diversity, and LGBTQ rights within the community. We have a firm safe(r) space policy. We welcome everyone regardless of ethnicity, class, age, ability, skill, gender, or orientation. We reject colonialism, transphobia, homophobia, queerphobia, fatphobia, ablism, audism, white supremacy, racism, misogyny, rape culture, sex-worker exclusionary radical feminism, and the patriarchy.
