Cosplay, Props, & Weapons Policy
Magical Market facilitates events that are in the public domain. We do not register weapons at our events. The events we organize are on public property unless otherwise stated and, therefore, we ask that you use your common sense when it comes to the cosplay you choose to wear and how you accessorize when attending our functions. Live firearms including airsoft, modern, hunting or historic, either functioning or de-commissioned, are not permitted at any Magical Market event.

For your own safety, Magical Market does not recommend wearing cosplay that mimics or replicates military or law enforcement uniforms in anyway. In the event that you attend an event with an inappropriate prop, you will be asked to stow your prop or leave the event. While prop firearms with orange tips are not illegal, it is important to be cognizant of your behaviour as members of the public may still be threatened. Magical Market volunteers will do their best to remind you of this, but your prop is your responsibility.

Case in point: 2 cosplayers arrested in Gatineau for wielding weapons in public http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/gatineau-police-arrest-2-men-with-fake-guns-downtown-1.2929951

Basically: do not come naked and do not come with a prop that can be easily misconstrued with a live firearm. We are in public, please be aware.
